While there are no known people from the Anasazi culture because of the lack of written records, their two major cities are preserved.
Chaco Canyon
Chaco Canyon is one of the two major cities in the Anasazi culture. It is located in New Mexico, and it is made of a majority of sandstone bricks and timber, hauled from large distances. It is unknown how the Anasazi managed to haul the timber, as they had no large pack animals. Chaco Canyon is made up of fifteen complexes, with many social and ceremonial centers called Kivas.
Mesa Verde
Mesa Verde is the other of the two major Anasazi civiization centers. It is located in Colorado, and it contains over 600 cliff dwellings. This is unusual because while it was a huge site, cliff dwellings were only used throughout the majority of the Anasazi culture for around 100 years. It also contains Kivas of similar make. While they were here, the Anasazi relied heavily of cultivated food, and their growing fields were ususally below, or on the top of the cliffs.
